media explorer rate control preferences?

brand new to this feature and not sure how to get it to work the way i want to work with it.

i do a lot of spoken word work and often have to preview through very long files looking for specific phrases and such. being able to do this at double speed is great! when i drag the selected audio from the media explorer, though, it retains the double speed setting. is there a preference i can set someplace so i can preview in the explorer at different speeds but have it add to the timeline at 1.0?

Would it work for you to use the play rate button to speed up playback in preview, then double click on it to reset to 1.0 before inserting?

thanks, nicholas. yeah. thought of that but actually it's just what i was hoping to avoid. in potentially searching for dozens or more phrases and such it would amount to a lot of extra clicking and resetting to toggle back and forth. would save an awful lot of time to be able to tell the import to just ignore the rate knob.

it was closer than i thought. just had to wait for v6.18 to get here. ;-)

r-click empty area at bottom of media explorer
options
apply preview pitch/rate to inserted media item
apply preview volume to inserted media item
