Default FX List view help

When i first used Reaper whenever i went into choose an external FX the page would be in what i would describe as "List" mode (like file explorer list view), somehow i clicked on something and it changed it into "details" view (one long list) and I've never been able to change it back.

Does anyone know how to do this, i've searched in the options and right clicked everywhere i can looking for this option but i just cannot find it.

Much appreciated!

Can you post a screen shot of what you see?

Sure thanks

As you can see in the image its just one long list of VST, its was much easier to navigate when there was multiple columns to scroll across, any help is appreciated!

Originally i had three rows of VST's in the same screen space as that i could horizontally scroll across kind of thing. Not sure what i actually did except "reset view on close" was ticked but i haven't been able to change the view at all.

Ah now I understand what you mean.

I'm wondering ... this could be because additional columns have been added in recent updates (default presets and shortcuts).

Try going to the Options menu (in the Add FX window) and deselecting Show in FX list both default presets and fx shortcuts,

Hi,
I have the same issue as the original post. When I try the solution suggested it remains as a list. Un-ticking all options in the SHOW FX list does nothing. Any ideas?
Thanks

I don't use FX shortcuts either. I have tried all the options and still no luck. Anyone else have an idea how to fix this seemingly simple problem?

If all else fails try resetting the fx browser settings to defaults...

1) Exit REAPER.
2) Make a backup copy of the file REAPER.INI (for safe keeping/restore if needed).
3) Open REAPER.INI in a text editor.
4) Search for "[REAPER-fxadd]" (wihtout the quotes).
5) Delete the [REAPER-fxadd] section, for example in my INI I'd delete everything in red,...

[verchk]
lastt=1508268544
[REAPER-fxadd]
lastview=1024
allp_root=0
userf_root=1
uiflags=2017296
cat_root=0
dev_root=0
colwid0=389
colwid1=0

[reaverb]
lastdir=E:\ext\IMPULSE RESPONSE FILES\VS8F-2

6) Save the ini file, exit text editor.
7) Restart REAPER.

The fx browser should now look and have all the settings like it does when you do a clean install of REAPER. If the problem returns report it to the Bug Reports forum.

Thanks for the reply Edgemeal. Unfortunately this did not work either. Looks like a bug report is in order. Really appreciate you taking the time to try to help me out though.
