I can't help but have very happy memories of a week spent there. Rather strange place in many ways - some local people we talked to said Darwin was the place people went to when they were trying to escape from somewhere else... Hope it works out for you.

Had me worried for a moment, Sulei - thought you were planning on going for a place int eh Darwin awards!

Dont have any family or even friends in that neck of the woods - hope you find some kindred spirits, mate.

I've only been to Darwin in the dry season, hope you're comfortable this time of year.

Useless bit of information for you: this time of year in 1836 Charles Darwin visited Wentworth Falls (my current home, then known as Weatherboard) on his way across the Blue Mountains. While here he walked along the creek to the top of the falls (then known as Campbell's Cataract). This very pleasant walk, about 3 km each way is now maintained and known as the Charles Darwin walk.

Sydney is closer than some but I can't help either
I too recall spending some time in Darwin - plenty of really great places to eat with some great food and grog and of course the 'yacht club' to watch the sunset ;-)
