Mouse modifiers: no middle click function on Arrange View unless middle drag is set

Hi all,

I'm trying to set some mouse modifiers on the Arrange View and stumbled upon an unexpected behavior. I'm setting up a mouse wheel modifier as well as a middle click one, and to avoid human errors I want to disable the middle drag. However, my middle click only works if there is a default action set for the middle drag. The mouse wheel modifiers work just as expected, but I need to have a default action for the middle drag in order for the middle click to work, with a modifier or just the default action. Any middle drag action will make the middle click work, though the ones that are toggle actions require double middle click to work.

I am using an Intel NUC Hades Canyon with 32 GB or RAM; I'm on the latest version of Windows 10, 64 bit processor and OS; and I'm using the latest version of Reaper. Pretty sure it's a bug because it doesn't make sense that I need to set up a middle click drag action for the middle click alone to work at all. I'd like to not have any middle drag default action and have my middle click to work.

Please let me know if any of you are able to reproduce the issue, and if this is actually some sort of dark feature and not a bug. Thank you!

at the moment it is very rare for developers to fix mouse modifiers. there are also a lot of bugs in the midi editor mouse modifiers and in the score editor.
maybe fixes will come one day
