Cursor flies away with Scrub if letting go of modifier key (FIXED)

FINALLY found the exact circumstances where this happens. Been bugging me for a while but hadn't sat down to figure it out.

1. Scrub audio using Ctrl + MMB
2. Let go of Ctrl but not MMB
3. Attempt to drag the edit cursor offscreen

Result: Sometimes it works fine (gets stopped at the edge), but most of the time it flies off into the distance, usually to some far away measure number, such as 1473925.

Note: it happens regardless of playback or not but its much more reliably recreated when playing back, I've noticed.

Confirmed here.

I was pulling my hair for some time as well, as I use middle mouse
button for scrolling around, and quite often used ctrl modifier
for zoom and the edit cursor suddenly jumps to bar 5000 or so.

Was never able to properly reproduce, it's very random.

The bug's been introduced in one of the early 4.7x version if I'm not mistaken.

Can others confirm this doesn't happen in V5 pres? In my testing I was able to immediately reproduce in V4 but not in V5
