Noticed that too. I have to zoom in for the blobs to show up. I get lines (like a midi editor) until I do that. ARA in Reaper is nice, but the S1 integration takes the prize for elegance for now.

What you saying is that Undo shortcuts should be focused on the plugin only?

Only when the fx window is focused, it doesn't affect the arrangement window.

I only have Melodyne essentials & am considering upgrading to Melodyne 4 assistant.
I am not a real heavy duty mangler of sound & tend to re-record a part if it is out of tune/ dodgy timing, etc.
So am I really going to lose a lot by not upgrading to Melodyne editor instead?
Finding it hard to compare the feature lists on Celemonys site since I dont know what a lot of the features actually do.

Basically the Essential version will let you work with monophonic material to edit pitch. Assistant adds a wealth of handy tools, like timing, note separation, and amplitude. Editor lets you work with polyphonic material and edit scales. The Studio version will give you everything, plus the ability to work with multi-track material, and the nifty Sound editor to change timbres, and mangle sound.

It works! Whaoo...I had to keep my left hand away not to do it inadvertently and have all my note sucked in a remotely location of my HD!!!
Thank you so much for giving me back the usage of my left hand when using Melodyne!!!

ARA2. ARA1 has never been supported and never will be supported by Reaper. However, that should not be a problem since the Melodyne 4.2 update with ARA2 is free. (I know, there are a couple of other ARA enabled plugins in the market. Maybe those will bring in ARA2 with a paid update.)

As once said...most likely ARA 3 considering that, nevertheless yearly dated claims, reaper doesn't have neither 1 nor 2 (official release)

Not quite yet though. It Is still not in official release and this post "Ara is coming to Reaper" has been started on march 17!
To me, this opens a lots of questions about their capability to include, even slowly, important features like this one.

THIS !
While ARA2 support supposedly is a really nice upcoming feature, only a (small ?) fraction of the potential Reaper users are planning to take advantage of it. So who is to entitled to define how important it is overall - and hence it's priority in the development process ? (Only the devs !)

So, I cannot say what is very important to me (and, as shown by the fact I’m replying to a very enthusiastic one, to some others)???
The above is opinion, but, indisputable fact, this post has got as a starting date March 2017.
For me, this is a long long time. Maybe for you is just a short one.
To get out from sterile arguing, what are those great features they are working on?
Really interested.

You are relatively new round here & likely havent read enough to realise that it is in fact Celemony who have been the limiting factor here, through no fault of their own.
Early on Justin explained that there was little point in them developing ARA 1 support, as Celemony were already working on a revised version (ARA2) and that discussions were going on between Cockos and Celemony already.
Melodyne 4.3 - very recently released - is the first iteration to include the stuff that Cockos & Celemony hammered out, so now there`s an "official" release of "sorta ARA2", there is inevitably going to be additional work fixing bugs in the reaper implementation prior to an official release.
Hope that helps you understand where we are right now and why?

Now you derailed Ivansc. Derailed as when kids, having nothing to argument properly, start singing out of tune stuff like: you are a stupid...you are a stupid...la la la la....la la la la.
I might not be able to write proper english according to you, but according to me, your comprehension is very limited both in language (not talking on the technical side of it, rather its essence) and in daw knowledge indeed.
That would be not a problem for me if only you did not divert into insults.
Therefore, as long as I cannot prohibit replying to my post, for sure, I will not reply to yours anymore.
Have a good life, hopefully with a broader mind approach.
Cheers (for the last time)

Exactly, Michael. For some reason Miul has an unfortunate knack of writing english in such a way as to make his posts seem confrontational and aggressive, which I am sure is not his intention, but that last lot unfortunately tipped me over into "pissed off" territory.

For me, the following has nothing to do with the language or culture:

That was written after:
a) the first Melodyne ARA2 compatible open version was released shortly before 5.96
b) the reason why it is not in 5.96 was explain by developers
c) the version it which it can be expected (5.97) is also mentioned by developers.
So that post is a trolling attempt.

There definitely are some current issues with ARA regarding tempo mapping, etc - but I am definitely looking forward to improvements in implementation, if they are planned.

Yes, I'm looking forward as well. And I personally regard it as counter productive to question the coding capabilities of Justin and schwa. This is nothing but disrespectful.
People were asking for ARA support since ages and the perspectives were close to zero. Now with ARA2 new possibilities opened up and the devs decided to incorporate it. In exchange, they get nothing but bitching around...

Hi,
My answer had as only intention to make you aware before your enthusiastic jump into something that it is still not there, rather than listening to big boy fan, as some of the guys here have proven to be.
For such advice, I now need to bare all the above criticism, but truly, cannot be careless.

Miul: If you had actually bothered to follow the pre release forum you would know that Reaper`s ARA capability has been waiting on the release of 4.3, as I said above. I have taken the decision to put your somewhat abrasive, confrontational style down to "english as a foreign language", but I am beginning to think that maybe azslow3 is right.
As a matter of idle curiosity, have you actually TRIED the pre-release with ARA support included at all?
Come to that, do you even own Melodyne 4?

Would I be right in thinking 4.3 is only available to people involved in Celemony's beta testing? I can't find it ...
