Default reasurround panning question

how do those using reasurround deal with this? is there a setup i should be using to avoid the following?

in a 5.1 setup for reasurround, when i pan a sound from, say, full back-right to full front-left, it passes directly through the center of the room or soundfield. i'd assume it would distributed evenly to all speakers at that point (the center). far from that being the case, though, the sound actually falls off to -inf in the center. similar things happen when panning between other positions, such as left to right, front to back. depending on the positions the sound might not drop out completely but it always drops when midway between positions. how do you address this?

thanks,
babag

Yes, it is a known problem....

You can choose "Relative" instead of "Absolute" Speaker Influence.
It is not perfect but it will avoid what you describe.

thanks for the tip. even so, it drops a lot, just not to silence. if it's a known thing, is there any word on work being done on it?

thanks again,

When set to 'relative' and moving a sound source between front and rear left channels, the centre channel is introduced -- why is this?
