I found this thread when doing some research on how to determine why a plugin of mine crashes the Host, but it seems the page you posted is a 404 -- but I'll ask away anyways, hooping someone could give me some good pointers (no pun intended

How do you guys troubleshoot crashes? Where are the reaper crash logs? Do you guys add any libraries to your VST projects that capture stack traces? etc?

When my plugin is inserted on a REAPER track, and I close the project -- my plugin sometimes causes REAPER to "hard crash" -- just instantly closes. But when I delete the plugin by selecting it in the tracks FX list -- and hit delete, no crash. But if I delete the track entirely by selecting the track and hitting delete -- most of the time reaper crashes. And when Ableton Live scans the plugin on startup -- Ableton crashes.

My project is very simple -- not much code -- nothing to free or delete -- just sends MIDI CC's -- so this is all myterious to me at the moment....
