Default Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 Input 2 not working

I have a Scarlet 2i2 and the second input isn't recording in Reaper. I can monitor it from the 2i2 but when I go to record in Reaper, it doesn't seem to pick anything up. I tried messing around in the Preferences and such to no avail.

There is one thing I can try that I forgot to do but I deleted the tracks I previously recorded which were set to record on Mono Input 5 on the Zoom R16 I had.

If this doesn't work, what would you guys suggest?

Have you tried it in Audacity ? If it doesn't work either, I guess you can look for another soundcard.

USB cable - the one that comes with the Scarlett is a cheap one, so might be knackered.

Check you're getting signal at the Focusrite Mix Control software.

If not, make sure you've got Mix Control set properly.
If you are, you've got Reaper setup wrong.

If Reaper is set properly, Mix Control is set properly, a new cable didn't fix it, the Scarlett's got an internal problem.

NB: If you've veered away from defaults settings in either program, it may be worth doing a 'portable' install of Reaper - a tickbox at the install process that allows you to install a completely independent install to a single folder - and a reset to default of the Mix Control software, for test purposes and/or maybe even reinstall the FR driver.

I haven't tested in the Scarlett software. I know when I'm in REAPER and hooked into input 2, I can hear the monitoring from the Scarlett but REAPER doesn't pick it up.
