Default Is there a "!vote" command to reset to bar 1 ?

Or something similar ?

If you mean you don't want to wait until the end of the interval (e.g. you changed from 64 BPI to 8 BPI), you'd be skipping forwards to the start of your next interval - the same as disconnecting and reconnecting.

As it would only affect you, it wouldn't need a vote or server interaction, the client could "just do it".

Of course, the workaround is disconnecting and reconnecting in the client.

I suppose, disconnecting and reconnecting only gets me to bar 1 of the loop, if I am the only one connected, as all other of course are bound to carry on in the sequence.

My intention is to allow any or all of the participants to reset the Loop to bar 1 in a session meant for decent practicing (not just for jamming), in case we do a discussion and decide to modify what (e.g.) chord progression we want to play.

Additionally of course start and stop command would be very welcome.

It's not really something the server would do, though.

The client would have to drop the connection and reconnect, basically, to re-establish synchronisation.

The effect would be to drop any received audio and start off at 1 again, and you'd then have to wait for all the other clients to do that and to start sending their new interval.

So there'd be that usual silent period from the other clients, just like if you'd disconnected and reconnected.

You can't really get around that.

In the protocol description -> https://github.com/wahjam/wahjam/wiki/Ninjam-Protocol, I on the first sight don't see any timing protocols, so I can't get a deeper insight on that issue (I had assumed, the server would send some kind of synchronization messages to the clients which would allow for starting over at bar 1 by resetting the server's interval-counter).

Are you a developer of NinJam software ?

NINJAM really isn't designed to be used this way. If you set up a very long interval, like 400 beats or something, even if you just used the chat interface to say "everybody stop, let's re-start the song when the counter hits 100", nobody is going to hear the other musicians re-starting the song until 400 more beats go by.
