Default help with simple script

I wonder if anyone here can help me create a script for the following procedure?

---------

Select all items in all tracks within the current time selection

Duplicate these items moving later items.

Move cursor to beginning of duplicated items

Create time selection for newly duplicated items

Create region from time selection

Crop takes to active items

----------

Most of those steps have actions readily available however I'm running into difficulty understanding how to move the cursor to the beginning of the duplicated items and creating a new time selection for them.

I'm guessing I would need to know the length of the current time selection perhaps?

Normally the items within the time selections are already split. I would imagine that I might want to include the action to split at time selection if needed to be more robust.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Easy to make that a custom action. To set the time selection just use the action "set time selection to items." To move the cursor you can use "move cursor to start of items." To move the later items when duplicating, turn on ripple and then turn it off again afterward. There are actions for that as well.

If you can't find what you're looking for in actions list, you've probably typed too much. Type as little as possible and you will have more results. Even adding an "s" can eliminate what you want to find.

Negative. Duplicating the items does NOT automatically select duplicated items so "set time selection to items" doesn't work. As I stated previously, how can I move the cursor to the duplicated items, select all of them, and create new time selection?

Default Final Solution

In the off-chance someone comes across this post in the future I thought I should clarify the final outcome. FoxAsteria is correct. However, it should be pointed out that there are TWO "set time selection to items" in the actions list. The first is SWS and adds in parenthesis "(skip if time selection exists)". This is what I was doing wrong. The second "set time selection to items" at the bottom of a long list without the parenthesis works as expected.

Ok so I was a moron ... should have seen that sooner. Thanks @Fox for the support.
