Default REAPER Main Menus Bug - Disappearing Shortcuts - PLEASE READ (FIXED)

On the Mac (and maybe(?) on PC), if you put the same Action in multiple main REAPER menus, the keyboard shortcut often is not displayed in some of those menus. This bug has been around for a long time, and has been written of to "a Mac problem," but I think there is a solution...

If you open the Action list window, and then search for that shortcut using the "Find shortcut..." button, then the main REAPER menus are properly updated and the shortcut is displayed.

@schwa and @Justin, this should tell you where the problem is in the code.

I hope you can fix this bug, because it plagues all Mac users who do menu customization. It is very common to put the same action in multiple menus, and it is very annoying to not have shortcuts properly displayed.

Thank you for your help on this!

Interesting, you don't need to even search for a shortcut, doing anything that changes the main menu to another menu and then back to the REAPER menu is sufficient. Looks like that might be a workaround for the bug, let's see if we can find the right place to automate that refresh...

@Justin, thank you!

By the way, that solution does not seem to fix the issue if the same command is referenced twice within the same main menu.
