Default Constant Reaper Crashes

Hi all,

I am getting Reaper crashes multiple times a day. I have tried so many solutions to try to resolve this with no luck, any help is really really appreciated.

I know it is common to link this to a VST, but I have had 2 months of crashes and really can't tie it to any VST in particular.

The crashes are completely random other than the fact that it requires some "action" by the user to cause a crash. I could be writing music for 4 hours, then press play on a track and it will crash, or I try to open an FX rack, or a midi track, the possibilities are endless. However, it won't crash if I just leave a project open for a full day. I have had it crash on multiple projects all with different combinations of VSTs.

[SOLUTIONS I'VE TRIED]
-SFC Scan
-Uninstalling all MSVC Redist packages and re-installing latest ones
-Uninstalling Reaper, Kontakt, Kontakt 7 and reinstalling
-I have done various forms of graphics card/driver trouble shooting and can confirm it is not a graphics driver issue.
-I have had this happen on multiple versions of Reaper.
-Cleared all my cache
-Virus scans
-Windows updates/restarts/etc..

please help, I am one crash away from tossing this computer out the window.

Default Interface

What I would try :

Using another audio driver.
Why not the original driver from Focusrite :

I had crashes for the first time with 6.77

I downgraded to 6.75 and have had no crashes.

Worth a try.

I would go with the correct driver for you interface and offline or remove your vsts till you figure out which bad one it is. Check the event viewer log.

The Windows event log can be viewed using Microsoft's Event Viewer. Just type “Event Viewer” in the start menu search box and press return. That should start it. Crash information is stored in the sub category “Application” under “Windows Logs”.
