Apparently the BugcheckCode 10 has something to do with hardware not responding https://forums.tomshardware.com/thre...de-10.3142709/ This seems reasonable as the crash occurs when you try to change the audio input. Could be that your audio card is faulty... What interface are you using? Maybe try another USB port? That's all I can think of at this point.

It worked. I downloaded the drivers for the sound card and deleted asio4all. Blue screen is gone and it started working but reaper is playing choppy and slow tempo. One solved and now another problem. I will keep at it. Thanks for all your help. I appreciate it very much.

I announced too early that I solved. I’m back to square one. Every time I go to options, preferences, it’s going to blue screen. Could it be malware? audio

Kernel mode heap corruption is typical for device driver issues.
Are you sure you have the correct (and latest) drivers installed?
I would try to (re-)install the latest drivers.
Another thing I would try is to download Reaper and do a portable install. Then you have a fresh version of Reaper to experiment with, maybe you can get that to work.

When I go into Reaper configure audio device, it did a BSOD everytime.

Is this an issue with the Focusrite 18i8?
I just bought mine, 3rd Gen, a couple of weeks ago and this has been happening when I try to change buffer size. Never had this problem with my old Firestudio Project.
BSOD and this message- 'stopcode kernel mode heap corruption'.
I'm on Windows 10 Pro.

One thing that might be related... W10 1903 version ruined most of MIDI for me, so I had to revert back to 1809. You can check your version of windows with the "winver" command.
