Default How can I reset the mouse wheel?

Hey, All:

I was watching a video awhile back about ways to customize Reaper and it showed how to turn off the mouse wheel that when you turn it, it makes the timeline longer or shorter and I don't recall how to put it back?

How do I do that?

In the Actions window, click [Find shortcut], scroll the mousewheel, select that action, then delete the sortcut

Thank you so much for the suggestion. I did as you instructed:

1. I clicked on << Find Shortcut >>
2. I then rolled the mouse wheel and I get an error message 'Shortcut not found'.

I think there was a miscommunication about what you intended to do.

If you want to restore the ability to zoom the timeline with your mouse wheel, you can't find that action in the action list by "find shortcut" with the mouse wheel since that shortcut has been removed from the action you want to find.

Instead type this in the filter at the top of the action list:

View: Zoom horizontally (MIDI CC relative/mousewheel)

Then in the bottom left corner where it says "Shortcuts for selected action", click "add". In the box that appears you can move the mouse wheel.

OK.

Followup question: There is currently an action listed as:

Alt+HorizWheel

Should I delete that?

Take a look at the action that is currently assigned to the shortcut you wish to use for something else. If it's something you don't use and don't see yourself interested in using with said shortcut... delete away.

If it makes you say "Hold on... That's really intuitive for that other action and I might even use that! Let me pick a different shortcut here."
Then there you go.

Here's a tip:
When you pick a keyboard shortcut for some action...
You thought up the perfect intuitive shortcut that you'll never forget.

Now put it in one of the menus too!
The menus display the assigned keyboard shortcuts. (A stock feature of the OS.)
So when you've forgotten that perfect shortcut the next day, you can click on a menu and refresh your memory quickly. (Cause you'll probably also have forgotten the name of the action and have a pissy time searching for it in the action list.)

True - I thought that sjs94704 wanted to remove it.
