Default OSC and Chat

Is there a way to send/receive OSC messages with NINJAM
Or
Is there a way to save the chat to a file (in order to convert them with Pure Data, for example)

Hi patricio1979,
ninjam chat is already saved within clipsort.log file since spring 2020 when it was added on my request
Open the clipsort.log file and you will find your chat messages timestamped (in terms of "intervals") in there (they asre tagged as "chat MSG").

EDIT: You can also manually select all text in a chat window (using Ctrl+A) and copy to clipboard (Ctrl+C) (note: right-click does not offer the select/copy/paste commands it this window), then paste to a text file.

Drag'n'drop works, as well as ctrl-c/ctrl-v, I think.

I wonder whether you could have clipsort.log being written to a linux server with a script monitoring to pull those chat messages out as they're being written... Mmmm.... (I've no idea how you'd approach doing it with the file on anything but a linux box...)

Good point pljones - chat is not saved on server (even if you have Save Session option enabled in ninjam server config), it is saved only on local clients.

And about drag'n'drop from chat window - it does not work with all apps. For example, it does not work with Notepad, but works with WordPad(rtf) So keep it in mind.
