Default protool theme question

Hi,
I always used default Reaper theme.
Tried Protool... Like it.
But, cannot figure out how to pull down mixer slider.
I can drug it up.
No way for down. Tried find the drug point by slowly moving the cursor.
Don't think that it cannot go down more than on pic.

Thanks.

You can't drag it. The theme uses a fixed size fader.

The thing you are able to drag without editing the theme is the send section height.

Maybe you could ask on the theme subforum how to make this modification. Be prepared though, you have to dive into coding WALTER and editing some images...
Or who knows, someone could make it for you

If you like the theme you can undock mixer and make it go behind main window, maybe?

Just limit main window bottom just a little bit so you easily can click to get mixer in front.

Or resize mixer another way on main window as floating window, so enough out of the way.

Maybe to the right side do the first thing I suggested instead?
- let mixer go behind main window there

Here is some wild stuff for you....

Things I experimented with over the years before actually having dual monitors(this on stationary computer then)
- emulate two monitors on the one you have

Graphics cards usually have two outputs, like DVI and Hdmi and monitor too have those inputs
- so having both cables connected i made a double width desktop
- and a button on monitor just toggled between inputs used

So mixer on one and main window on the other.

But a budget intermediate solution before getting an extra monitor.

I am not entirely sure if I understood you right. But, if you mean you want the ability to drag the whole mixer area down so it is hidden (or any where in between) I asked about this a while back and made a note as follows:
Q
"...is it possible to tweak to be able to drag the bottom edge of the transport all the way down so as to hide the mixer?

I realise hiding the mixer can be Ctrl+M'd but ...
I realise some themes can't do this but no harm in asking. I have a little vid somewhere I could probably find if not clear.
Thanks"

A
"Yes, this can be done.
I didn't really explore how small the layouts could go before breaking with this one since it was just a quick mod.

You will need to unpack the theme and access the RTconfig file in the image folder.
Alternatively, you can extract the RTconfig using a utility app like 7-Zip.

Add the following code in the top section of the RTconfig between the trans_speed_zero line and the WALTER line.

To allow the mixer to pull down all the way:
mcp_min_height -2

To allow the mixer to pull down to the minimum height before breaking layouts:
mcp_min_height 169"

The way it seems to work is either pulling the transport and TCP down to where you want it, sort of covering the mixer area, or pulling the top edge of the mixer down to where ever you want it. It does depend on the theme though.

kudos to whoever answered me

Thank you very much, ALL!
Sure I will try all...

And of course I am using 2 monitors.
The main one is 32".

I have a question for pro tools users.
Is it possible to make reaper behave like pro tools as far as looks and shortcuts go?

If you want the PT key bindings and mouse behavior, try my Reaper configuration here:

https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/qyl30...v3tsml8mi&dl=1

It’s meant to make Reaper easier for people coming from a PT background and modeled around PT shortcuts — not entirely 1:1 but pretty close. (Just be sure to export/backup your current configuration as this will overwrite your current preferences and settings.)
