Default MIDI editor: Option to edit CC only when mouse is over CC bar

REAPER v5.32 has added a very useful option for velocity editing:

+ MIDI editor: add option to edit velocity only when mouse is within velocity bar [t=185372]
I find that I can draw more precise, controlled curves if the 'active area' is small, so I will usually set this option to "Edit only when mouse is over velocity bar".

I suggest that this option can be made even more useful -- and more consistent -- if it applies to all CC lanes, instead of only the Velocity lane.

Two years later, and I would like to bump this request.

Here is an example of how inaccurate CC drawing is vs Velocity drawing:

Moreover, it is strangely inconsistent to have an option such as "Edit only when mouse is over velocity bar" that only applies to velocity bars, not CC bars.

BTW the second GIF you're showing is actually how FL Studio works for velocity bars. Lotsa people love that.
