Default MIDI record modes unusable

It seems the touch and latch record modes for MIDI are broken. They don’t mute underlying data and worse yet cause a crazy amount of glitching and garbled sound. Strangely the underlying data is recorded well though. Anyone else see this?

Latch-replace seems a little "more" broken than touch-replace. Sometimes I can get the latter to work, but the former doesn't actually replace the underlying data as it should and keeps playing. I'm afraid something is really broken here.

As an aside and perhaps related: I'm sometimes hearing doubling of note data in these modes as well.

Have you tried "Right clicking" on the "Arm" button and selecting "Record: MIDI overdub/replace>"? You can select:

Record: MIDI overdub
Record: MIDI replace
Record: MIDI touch-replace
Record: MIDI latch-replace

Hi Tod. Yes, those are the functions I'm hoping can be addressed. The first two work well, but the last two have all sorts of issues.

To specifically narrow down the issues in hopes of a fix.

in Record: MIDI latch-replace:
- does not actually work and the underlying MIDI continues to play and exist after recording.
- the end of the underlying item causes a whole bunch of MIDI data glitching. Making it impossible to continue recording. Even though the actual MIDI data once stopped is okay.

in Record: MIDI touch-replace:
- function itself works as intended
- the end of the underlying item cause a note off message it is passed. Usually making it impossible to use the function as intended. Even though, again, the actual MIDI data recorded is fine.

In summary:
- Record: MIDI latch-replace is broken
- Item ends cause an interference in behaviour and need to be addressed.

Record: MIDI overdub
This is broken also !
It works if you don't edit the recording but if you delete a note in the midi take then go back to overdub you get doubled notes on input. v6 up.
It's all broken lol.

Yeah. I was going to update with some more findings here, but someone beat me to it in another post. Related to doubling of notes there. See here: https://forum.cockos.com/showthread.php?t=233311

Hope we can get this stuff working soon. I’d imagine this was just recently broken. Unfortunately that’s a lot of things that factor into regular primary use

The last 2 midi record modes still seem completely broken.
