Default Pro Tools-like Comment Section

In Pro Tools, you can write one or a few comments in a dedicated field under or besides each track (in the mixing and arrange view respectively). I wish Reaper had the same feature.

I've found it really useful when recording to write down what microphones were used and what positions they were in.

I've also found it helpful to be able to write TO DOs when I get a lot of ideas, so that I don't have to spend more time trying to remember it all.

And if the track is part of some intricate routing, it's easy to look at the comments at a glance and see that "oh, this track is sent to a delay that is sent to a reverb, while also sending to a different delay that is sent to a chorus".

Or if I send the project to a collegue, then explaining my ideas to him will be easy if I can write under a track.

I realize this and my previous thread makes it sound like I'm the biggest fan of Pro Tools, but I actually like Reaper a lot more. I used Pro Tools in school and realized it had some features that were so simple, but ultimately really powerful.

Install the sws reaper extensions . http://www.sws-extension.org/

Then you will find the notes extension in the extensions menu of reaper.
The dockable Notes Extension can set and display notes (try the lock
button) for projects, (also with extra notes), tracks, items and regions.

Not as track-nailed as in protools, but reaper isn't protools

+1 from me
but, it really depends on a track inspector
that Reaper doesn't have native yet.

Notes vst is a very easy workaround.

Oh, that's really sweet! Thanks! I'm hoping for track-nailed, but in the meantime, this will do.

Why? I thought that yet another button or context menu would do the trick.

And the comment would be shown also on hover in a popup.
