Default Scale Mod: JS Frequency Spectrum Analyzer Meter

Hello

I want to use the "JS Frequency Spectrum Analyzer Meter" to analyze the frequency spectrum of my hardware eq's and also for plugins.

Generally in the following chain it works well:

1. "JS fft_noise generator"
2. "ReaInsert" or a Plugin
3. "JS Frequency Spectrum Analyzer Meter"

You have to match the FFT size and set it to rectangular.
In the attachment is a zip file with screenshots and the JS Plugins.

But the dB scale is not really practical, I would like the scale to be like the one of Christian-W. Budde's "VST Plugin Analyzer", which has a 0dB middle.

The best would be a slider like the blue ones that sets up the 0dB middle. There you can match it to the "volume (per band)" slider of the "JS fft_noise generator"

Could someone help me to edit the "JS Frequency Spectrum Analyzer Meter" ???

This would be a really great tool!

Cheers

You might want to try Signalizer instead:

It has a lot more options.

Hey thanks for the link, I didn't know that one.

Unfortunately Reaper on my 32Bit Windows XP system doesn't reconize the plugin when I put the "Signalizer x86.dll" in the plugin folder...how do I have to install it?

It would be great if we could work on the "JS Frequency Spectrum Analyzer Meter" beacause it is so light, simple and efficient.

Is there anybody out there? ;-)

I use the 64-bit version (64-bit Windows, 64-bit Reaper) so I wouldn't know if there's an issue with the 32-bit version.

Are you putting it in your specified VST plugins path that you set in Reaper's preferences? (Not the program files/reaper/plugins folder because that's actually *not* for VST plugins to be installed into.)

The frequency spectrum meter in Reaper may be "light" etc. but if you want to improve upon it...Signalizer has it beat by a long shot at only a slightly higher CPU hit (and only because I set the options like smoothing a bit higher than the Reaper plugin which has no such feature). And that's only part of what Signalizer does. The scope portion works very well too.

Thanx James

I have a seperate Folder in C:\Program Files for VST plugins. Do you just put the .dll in it or the whole folder? Do you use the "Debug 0.3.2" or the "Release 0.3.2" ?

Actually now I have tested it on my main music computer, also with Windows XP 32Bit. Reaper can load it in the FX Chain but it shows "The following effect plugin could not be loaded" (see picture in the attachment)
I does the same thing when I put the whole folder in my plugin folder and also when I just put in the .dll file.

I have never had that error. Then again you're using Windows XP and I'm guessing it might be lacking some required update/library. I know it says the plugin should work on "Windows XP+" but I wouldn't necessarily count on it maintaining compatibility with XP. You should consider changing your OS...especially if that computer is connected to the Internet.

Yeah, the good old XP :-)
Yes internet is not a good idea with XP, so I always use internet with Linux.

For now my two music XP Systems run really well. One with the Mytek Stereo192 ADC and the Stereo192 DSD DAC Firewire as a Master Recorder and the other as a simple DAW ''Tapemachine'' with the Lynx AES16 and the Aurora 16... if it works, don't touch it ;-)

Do you have an idea how to modify the ''JS Frequency Spectrum Analyzer Meter'' to have the option to set the dB Scale?
