Now I just want to test it if everything is ok, because the CDTEXT file opened in a notepad is not displayed correctly.
I do not understand how yours and Andreas's DDP tools could assist me. I've opened DDP To Cue Writer.exe and there is nothing I can do with it - I can not find a way to load those files etc.
cdrecord.exe and ddpinfo.exe tools can not be opened as a standalone - so I guess they are trigered by the DDP To Cue Writer.exe.
Did this in R 4.76.
I know I missed something, but just can not find it. Should I use your tools only instead of Sergejs integrated DDP render?
My wish is either to test the DDP for possible errors or if this is not possible to burn a CD from those files.

Hi,
My DDP program works with a DDP file set that's already been rendered. It does not create DDP files. It converts DDP to a cue/wav for cd burning
Can you send me you Reaper project file(Just the RPP file)?
We'll get it figured out.
Thanks, Wyatt

Ok, thanks!
Oh just noticed something - perhaps it is the problem that I use wavpack files instead of wave???

Yeah, I would use wav files.
I see a couple of things in your RPP file that I would change to be on the safe side.
In the project settings, set the project framerate to 75.
Then in your snap settings, set that to frame.
Then right click on the ruler, and select hours, mins, secs, frames.
You can save this as a template, and name it something like DDP Setup.
This will allow you to set your markers exactly on a CD frame.
Then render to dpp files to an empty, or new folder.
DDP To Cue Writer works with directory's instead of filenames, so whether you checking MD5 checksums, converting, or burning a cd, always select the folder where the ddp files are located, and you should be good to go.
Here's a quick animated gif showing converting to a cue/wav.
https://stash.reaper.fm/23764/Convert_DDP.gif
In the example above, you can save the cue/wav to a separate folder, keeping them out of the folder with the ddp files (recommended).
If everything went alright, you should have three files in that folder e.g. (image.cue, image.wav, image.cdt) that is if you use cdtext, else then you would just have two files(cue/wav).
You can then open the cue file, and burn a copy to CD.
The "Write DDP" Button basically does the same thing, except that it does the conversion to a temp folder, then writes the CD, and deletes the temp files after the process has completed.
Sorry that I don't really have a written manual yet, but most stuff is self explanatory. If you hover the mouse over the different buttons, check boxes, etc, you'll see tooltips explaining what happens.
Hope this helps.
Let me know if you get it going.
Thanks, Wyatt

Thanks Wyatt, my settings were ok, wavpack was ok (why not saving space),
it was the procedure with your tools that is rather confusing - your GIF is explanatory though. A user needs to choose/doubleclick (not open) the DDP files directory and then browse into the desired directory.
Perhaps I did also something wrong, but can not figure out what that would be. It is surely working now. Thanks!
Perhaps put the gif into the ddp tools zip package.

Great ideal! I'll do that when I get a chance.
Glad to see you got it working.

brilliant work
I'd like to thank everyone for their brilliant work on this DDP feature. I registered just to say that. Andreas, love your utilities!
This might be the final straw that pushes me into the Reaper camp, though it's hard to give up a decade or more of commitment to another product.

multiple INDEX sub codes
Hello,
is there any way to specify multiple INDEX subcodes for a single track within Reaper DDP export utility?
According to Help button in render dialog only INDEX0 and INDEX1 are supported:
"
- markers starting with "!" character represent INDEX0 position for the following "#" track
- markers starting with "#" character represent track metadata and INDEX1 position
"
If not: is there any way to add them with some other tool?

Hello fellow DDP people.
I've been working on Sergej's marker list utility code that he kindly shared with me not to long ago, and I have a working windows version. It doesn't effect Reapers current DDP render plugin at all, it's just a gui and it makes the process of putting in song titles, cd text, album info, etc. a whole lot easier. Here's a demo of what it does.
Would any of you extension guys be willing to help me so I might be able to get a version to work for Mac?
Any help would greatly be appreciated.
Thanks,
Wyatt

Hi Wyatt,
I'm going to use for the first time DDp exporting in Reaper in the next month, and I'm on a mac.
Your GUI is very interesting and it should make really simpler to write the cdtext instead of the marker's code, so if there something I can do to help you with the mac version I can be a beta tester

Hi,
Thanks for your interest. Sorry to say that I don't have a working version for MAC yet to even beta test. I wish I did. I'll post here when I do.
Many Thanks,

Hi all.
I just finished updating DDP To Cue Writer (Windows Versions Only).
There was a buffering bug that was random, and sometimes the last bit of text wouldn't display in the textbox progress log.
All processes now run in a separate thread, and that fixed the problem, and the GUI is more responsive now.
Special thanks to user SonicAxiom for reporting the bug, and testing.
The new version can be downloaded from the original post, and the links have been updated too.
See new links here.
http://forum.cockos.com/showpost.php...&postcount=294
Or see my signature for the links.
Thanks, Wyatt

Hi Wyatt,
First, thanks for all the interest and effort you show for the DDP mastering format. About this "ddp_marker_list" utility (windows version), is it already fully functional and/or shareable?
Thanks in anticipation.

Excellent thread for all who want/need to author DDP files!
Thanks very much to all of the clever people who have made this possible in Reaper and also made the checking of DDP files possible.
I've used Wave Edit on Mac in the past with no problems. I'm now on PC and have been asked to provide a DDP to the CD replicator. After looking at a few different programs and searching through various threads on different forums I stumbled across this thread and it's been invaluable to me.
I created a test DDP file, tested it with the tools in this thread and downloaded demo versions of commercial DDP players to check that everything was working fine. All is fine. Now when the real project is with me I'll be ready with confidence to author the DDP in Reaper.
Thanks again!

Hi All.
The DDP marker list editor gui is working. Thanks to Justin, we have a Mac build too, and he also did some bug fixes. Thank you Justin!
I haven't had much time to work on this, plus I did this for fun anyway, as I'm not a programmer. I'm a novice, at best, and that would only be basic Reaper API stuff.
The list editor was originally part of the DDP Plugin that Sergej did for Reaper. Why it was not included, I don't know. I'm sure Justin had his reasons for not including it, because it could be better. Anyway Sergej was kind enough to send me the source that he used, and all I have done was separated out the list editor part out of the code.
Anyone wanting to beta test this, send me a PM.
Many Thanks,
Wyatt

Just popping in to say DDP To Cue Writer is great! I used it to burn both a virtual CD (using Virtual CD trial) and a real CD with no problems. Very useful for figuring out whether my original files and DDP had all the info I wanted in there.

I'm having an issue with the DDP export. I've got most of the mechanics down, but the issue I have with the burned CD is that from song 2 onwards there is no time countdown and the CD cannot be fast-forwarded or rewinded.
Also, one of the songs needs to have a marker/song-change in the middle of a continuous wave file (song 6 and seven). It sort of works, but it sort of doesn't. If I play song 6 on the CD, it will play all the way through (songs 6 and 7) without switching to "Track 7". It just reads as "Track 6". However, if I advance to Track 7, it'll will play from that point.
I've looked at a couple of lengthy YouTube videos and there's nothing there to help. My guess is that I need to use the "!" in a marker(s). Can anyone help me get this sorted out?
Thanks

I would be glad to help with this.
I've had this happen before too, and recently as well.
I think it may have something to do with what type or brand of cd-r is being used, but I'm not 100% on this.
I'll look in to this just as soon as possible!
Thanks,
Wyatt

I have an older HP Notebook model Elitebook 8570p with this model drive:
HP DVD-RAM UJ8D1.
If I use only one INDEX0 at start which is 0, and only track markers INDEX01 "#" markers for the rest of the tracks, then this bug you describe happens when I try and play the cd in a tascam cd player, or car cd player.
If I add INDEX0 "!" Markers before the INDEX "#" markers for all the tracks, then burn with the same computer, and burner, then It plays back correctly.
If I take the same ddp file set to another computer with a different burner (Optiarc DVD-RW AD7260S) and burn it with only having one INDEX0 at the start, and the rest are just INDEX01 "#" for track markers, then it works correctly.
So maybe for your burner, you might have to add pregap markers (INDEX0 "!" markers for all the tracks)
Or you might try a different burner.
Send me you Reaper project file if you have trouble, and I'll look at it, and give you an example.
You can email me a link, and my email is in the info if you click on my user name.
Thanks,
wyatt

DDP GUI Marker Editor
Reaper-DDP-Marker-Editor
A Reaper plugin extension GUI that edits DDP markers in a listbox.
Original code by Sergej Maršnjak. Many thanks for sharing, and making this possible.
Special thanks to Justin Frankel for fixing bugs, and porting to Mac.
Thanks to Christian Fillion for helping add column drag and drop, ini fixes, and code help.
Thanks to SWS for code snippets, Tim Payne, SNM, and Xenakios.
Directions: This is not a vst plugin.
Download the zip file, extract, and pick the version for your operating system, and place it in the user plugins folder. Example: In Reaper, from the main menu go to "Options","Show Reaper resource path in explorer/finder", copy and paste the dll (Windows) or dylib (Mac) in the User plugins folder.
Restart Reaper, go to "Actions" menu, "Show actions list", and in the filter text box, type in DDP, and you will see it there ("DDP marker editor").
I still need to do a manual, but if you right click in the listbox, you guys will get the idea.
Get it here from the the stash.
https://stash.reaper.fm/v/34295/reaper_ddp_edit_R1.zip
Or direct download is here:
https://stash.reaper.fm/34295/reaper_ddp_edit_R1.zip
The source code lives here: (just in case any of you coders want to add any features, etc, as I don't have time at the moment)
https://github.com/WyattRice/reaper-DDP-Marker-Editor
Enjoy!

Or direct download is here:
https://stash.reaper.fm/34295/reaper_ddp_edit_R1.zip
The source code lives here: (just in case any of you coders want to add any features, etc, as I don't have time at the moment)

Enjoy!
Many Thanks,

Thanks Wyatt for your dedication to the DDP thing!
Are the dlls intended to work only from a certain version of Reaper? I use version 4.71 and the 32bits dll (in the user plugins folder) gives the same error message on win xp sp2 and win 7 sp1 [ failed to load 5 expected api function(s)], and the 64bits dll on win 7 sp1 though not causing any error message doesn't work. In all 3 cases, the plugin doesn't even show up in the action list.
Any idea?

Hi Kawabatnam.
Yeah, I should have mentioned that it only works from the latest Reaper v 4.78 (the last release of the v4.xx series).
I used the Reaper api from this version because there was a DDP handleing error that was fixed.
From 4.78 changes: DDP: fixed error handling cases

Edit: I may can you a special version to work with 4.71. I don't know yet, as there may be functions from the Reaper api that depended on reaper_plugin_functions generated from v4.78
Is there a reason you can't use 4.78 or actually 4.76 would work too?
Edit: Here's a special version (not fully tested yet) for older versions of Reaper before 4.76. I tested really quickly on 4.71 (for Windows only)

Many Thanks,
Wyatt

Thanks Wyatt,
Actually I've been away from Reaper for some time (years... shame on me...) and when I resumed using Reaper I just took things in the state I had left them -version 4.71 that is. So I've just "updated" to version 4.78 and yes it works perfectly! Though, since I realise Reaper has almost reached version 6, I'll have a closer look at the latest developments!
Thanks again.
