Default Any Boss HM-2 users here?

I'm looking for advice with recording direct and miking a cab for the Swedish chainsaw sound.

I've had some moderate success with the DI out of a Laney IRT Studio and would appreciate some help with mixing and FX. Do people compress further or leave things as they are?

Any tips or tricks would be appreciated

Is your question related to the HM 2? I'm not sure how it applies.

Compression on distorted guitar is probably not necessary most of the time.

You might look at a sidechained multi or regular band compressor to give room for snare drums, toms, or vocals, which may get buried by the guitar. Look at EQ first though and be subtle.

Cheers for the response

I was just fishing for tips on EQ as I sometimes get thick sounding double tracked rhythm guitars and other sessions they are thinner. They end up in a guitar buss and I'm not sure what to do with the buss in mixing.

Thanks again
