Default Justin, Schwa, anyone on the development team? Please respond!

Can we please get support for the atom:Path type parameter in LV2?

https://forum.cockos.com/showthread.php?t=252480

There are so many plugins that we are not able to use because only the most basic of support is available for the LV2 format. Can LV2 PLEASE get some love with the support needed to run plugins such as:

https://github.com/mikeoliphant/neural-amp-modeler-lv2

The atom:Path support in LV2 is mentioned all over in the internet, so it's obvious that it is important. Here's some more info that seems relevant about atom:Path in LV2:

http://lv2plug.in/ns/ext/atom

https://drobilla.net/2012/02/23/lv2-...ialisatio.html

http://mountainbikesandtrombones.blo...get-files.html

https://www.reddit.com/r/linuxaudio/...work_on_linux/

https://forum.elk.audio/t/lv2-plugin-atom-messages/898

https://lac.linuxaudio.org/2014/papers/31.pdf

https://www.google.com/search?q=lv2+...-wiz-serp#ip=1

There are a lot of plugins that I used to believe were just poorly written and broken due to bugs, until I discovered that the reason is mainly because of Reaper's LV2 implementation lacks a few essential things, such as atom:Path type parameter support in LV2. Many plugins on Linux come bare bones and without GUIs. This functionality is very important for Linux users.

Please respond!

It's on my todo list but there's a lot of docs to dig through (it's not just atom:Path, it's all of the possible ways that it can be used... )

Thank you for the response, Justin! I really appreciate it! I am so glad that it is on your to do list. Can you guys work on it, even if incrementally, so that we can have confidence that it is coming? You could even put in your release notes something as simple as:

“Did a little more LV2 work”

I’d really like to have access to more of the plugins that are available to other DAWs but not yet Reaper. 🙂

Audiojunkie in case you didn't know: one can use NAM in Linux Reaper through Ildaeil-FX https://github.com/DISTRHO/Ildaeil

...and it's killer.

Give it a shot.

Native loading would be super cool though

Interesting! I heard about Ildaeil when it came out, but I completely forgot about it. It’s worth trying. Thank you for posting! 🙂

Hey @justin @Schwa,

The new LV2 support for atom:Path type still isn't working correctly

See the bottom post of this thread:

https://forum.cockos.com/showthread.php?t=252480

Still no IR/file selector with certain x42 plugins such as https://x42-plugins.com/x42/x42-zconvolver.

Could everyone try some gui-less plugins and see if you are able to use them fully? We are especially concerned with the ability to choose from drop-down boxes and other features that utuilize the new LV2 functionality in the new version: Reaper 6.82.

Please report your findings! Thanks!

EDIT: Be sure you are using Reaper 6.82 or higher!

The GxAmplifier plug has drop down menus in Reaper, all is well there.

The x42 ones (eg. Preset Convolver) don't.
