How To: Use Yabridge in Ubuntu
This is probably so easy that most won't need a how to. But sometimes it's nice to see an example vs instructions. Here's how it worked in my case:
INSTALLATION: First download the latest version of yabridge from the releases page. Extract the contents of the downloaded archive to: /home/<user>/.local/share/ CHECK THAT IT WORKS BY PASTING THIS IN A TERMINAL: ~/.local/share/yabridge/yabridgectl status and it should output something like this in the terminal: Code:
yabridge path: <auto> VST2 location: '/home/n/.vst/yabridge' VST3 location: '/home/n/.vst3/yabridge' CLAP location: '/home/n/.clap/yabridge' ~/.local/share/yabridge/yabridgectl add /<path>/<to_windows_vsts>/ THEN PASTE THIS IN A TERMINAL: ~/.local/share/yabridge/yabridgectl sync WHICH CONVERTS THEM TO RUN ON LINUX. NOW IN REAPER go to preferences>vsts and ADD THE PATH: /home/<user>/.vst/yabridge/; to the vst plugin scan location within Reaper (yabridge automatically dumps the converted files to this folder). NOTE to those not familiar with Linux at all... the arrows (i.e. <user>) are not actually typed. That just signifies that you will fill your own data (i.e. computer user or a path) within the arrows (which again, the arrows themselves are not typed).
