Default Editing Track Measure..?

Hello..Question if I may: I sent a friend a track to add drums and the song started at " 0 "..So, he needed time to actually come in on the song so he added a couple measure to allow him time to get ready..When he sent files back,he forgot to set it back to the original start time so it would sync back up to my project time. I've seen it done on Kenny's site, but can't quite grab what's going on..How do I get rid of the two added measures and slide the tracks he added, back to "0"...?....

cut at end of measure 2, delete those, grab and move to 0.

Or move your track two measures forward.

...or slide them around til they match Not being facetious - that's how I do it.

If the left side is 'too long' to move anymore left, just hover and 'shrink' it to the right.

Left-click and hold on the track wave you want to slide, then, while still holding the mouse button down, move the mouse left or right. If it doesn't line up perfectly, just turn of Snap To Grid in the top menu, this will allow very small movements for precise alignment.

It can also be helpful if you find some 'marker' in the audio wave, like a snare hit, or the song start, or a break...and move the cursor to it (or insert an actual marker).

This gives you something to move the 2nd track/item to for alignment. You can select the track and use "alt+click/drag" to move the waveform in small increments INSIDE the item for 'fine tuning'.

This works just fine for me, I do it all the time. Make sure the track you are moving is not 'locked' (on the main toolbar) which can prevent its L/R movement.

How you have the grid set and the 'snap to grid' control are key in this. Smaller grid size allows finer movement but is more 'slippery'....snap may screw you all up, lol. Work with this concept, it will become second nature in no time. You'll even learn 'how close is close enough'...
