Default Midi editor transport controls??????

How the fark do you get the midi editor transport to sync with the "normal" transport?????

Why doesn't the cursor follow the audio editor cursor?

/ tried venturing into midi-land just to record a bass line

Hi Chip,

The MIDI editor follows the main Transport for me. How were you recording / editing the part?

Cheers,

Malcolm.

Actually, I should have been more precise:

What I want is a 1:1 cursor between the midi editor window and the multitrack window.

For instance, I want to be able to set the cursor at the attack of a transient in the multitrack window, and have that cursor position show up in the midi editor window so I can nudge timing in the midi editor to match the audio.

Right now there appears to be two separate cursors...."?"

I've got to go with chip on this one. Sort of.

The seperate cursors are good when you want to preview the midi sequence. But when I hit play in the arrangement window, I would like the midi editor to lock to IT, and for the transport in the midi editor to disable. It's pretty irritating when I've got the transport in the audio editor going, and I hit space after doing a quick edit, in the midi editor. The midi editor starts playing SEPERATELY, OUT OF TIME. It's a mess. I then have to click on the transport in the main window to stop playback. Not that having to click on the main transport is SO bad, but I can't imagine a situation where it would ever be acceptable to have both transports running seperately, out of time.

It would be nice if, when the main transport is running, the transport in the midi editor would disable.

Locking the two cursors together, as chip stated, would be nice too, but that really, for me, is secondary to the above stated situation.

I agree with everything Fluffy said. I first thought this was user error not being able to use the software correctly. I don't know if this is possible or already implented but would be nice when in MIDI editor, to be able to hear the entire track with the midi editor scrolling without clicking out of midi track to hear the other tracks. Having this option would be great because it's hard to tell if what I'm editing is actually being lined up correctly musically with other tracks (feel wise).

On a side note, I was able to get a lot of help in the IRC chat and thanks to all those that helped with patience! Also, thanks Justin for a great program!
