Default Using a control surface to modify fx param

Hey all

I've got a PreSonus Faderport 8 that I can use to modify track volume in real time with its sliders

It works great, but now I want to use it to modify a plugin parameter in real time too

I tried to google this and didn't really find anything other than a thread describing how to do this by linking the plugin param through parameter modulation to a track's volume

Makes sense. However, besides the fact that it seems weird to have to go through all that for something so simple (is there a better way?), I can't even find how to do even that. I've found a way to link my param to a track's audio signal. I've found a way to link it to other params. But I haven't found a way to link it to a track's volume.

Does anyone have any idea how to do that? Or a simpler way to write my param fx with my control surface?

Thanks!

Kenny Gioia just did a couple of videos that might help:

Thanks for the answer but that's not what I'm looking for

I have this FX parameter, shown in blue, which I have to control precisely. I did it manually with a mouse. I'd ideally want to be able to control it with a control surface exactly in the same way that I can control the volume.

Is that possible at all?

yeah, just use either parameter modulation or ReaLearn to assign the parameter to your knob / fader

I think ReaLearn is exactly what I was looking for, thanks! I'll try it out and report back.
