i'll dance irght through them pearly gates
so i'm prayin' for a plague and a big nke war

srapture's comin' and that's okay
you can play for fun you can play for pay
you can pray for a keg andmaybe a brand new ford
and the fish will swim the fish will fight
the fish will moan all day and night
but there's nothin' to do but grin
and hold on tight

you I think, asked me the other day how I worked... that's changing as my eyes fail
I write a verse and do a pilot track of that verse and the guitar cause I never really got the hang of playing the guitar then adding a vocal...
after half a million takes, I finally get a passable version
...so that first verse has got to be short enough to read as I'm playing...
the answer would be a video that scrolls great big words synched the music...
anyhow, I'm kinda reduced to recording one verse first, including the guitar--- then I can loop the guitar, blow new words up as big as I can and scroll them by hand as I'm singing
.
the alternative is learning the song cold... that takes a week or so, because the words are always changing

No obligations, I spent years playing solos to this kind of song, 30 or 40 times a night, so I'll see if I can bang out something good while having fun with it. Its all good practice to me.
and now you've become a collaborator on "left behind blues" because of this...

Well, I got plans. No need to be sorry. The Agora is vast - some don't know... good. Terrified fucks keep to themselves in their own small corner of the world - good. Let's just leave them alone... can't stand the screaming and shouting... must be in pain.
caused because they suspect the whole thing's a crock
.
according to the shrinks, though, when a belief is threatened, true believers become more fanatic in defense of their belief
maybe there's a survival reason for that behavior... if there are enough haywire theories floating around, some of them may turn out to be right, thus improving believers' cjamces pf ssuvival
primitive game theory, I guess

Who knows? I don't "have the blues", you know... but that has never scared me. Or made me feel left out... should it? Is there anything you can do with a guitar that isn't "the blues"? Sometimes I wonder.
I mean - you gotta have the blues. That's real music. By real people. Real feelings. Pain. Suffering. Suppose I need more hardship, troubles, sorrows, terrible experiences - crap, maybe I'm scared, after all. Music lessons will NEVER take me there - ask anybody - so I'm toast. Totally.
rapture's comin' and that's good news
so there aint no use in singin the blues
but you can pray for a plague... maybe a big nuke war
then the man'll swoop down out of a cloud
and swoop us all up and we'll be so proud but
say a little prayer for the folks
we leave behind

*verse repeated without vocal*
*first verse reapeated with vocal*
.
any suggestion for word changes?
we have a responsibility, you know...

I have to redo that guitar loop, there's a couple bad notes and I'm thinking an alternating bass fingerpick might sound better...
the theory behind that big hole was to give peope a rest, time to think, so in keeping with that theory, whatever goes in that hole should be subdued, mild, etc...
but that theory might be completely haywire, so do your damnedest...
I sure will look for that - actually, this may be the best song of yours I've heard as of yet... the lyrics sounds like a lament... very serious work - can't have too much of it... I hope I can add to it. Would like that very much. I'll try. The music is just as good. Fine work. Damn it.
"Mackerel snapper" was once a sectarian slur for Roman Catholics...
wikipeida
.
I got to say, though, that most catholics seem to be relatively sane
the pope called the impending wa with Iraq "a defeat for humnanity", but then the priestly child abuse scandal cost him billons of dollars, and the popes since then have kept their yaps shut about our glorious "war on terror" and the "clash of civilizations"

Huh. What d'ya' know about that. We always said "Mackerel Smacker." Whichever. A Mackerel Smacker by any other name would smell as fishy.
Where's your book on "How to Coin a Tune and Make it Seem Effortless"? I commented on your previous that I thought your voice seem to fade out at times, but now I feel it's just a part of your style and it totally works. Will this be expanded? the ending left me hanging.
