Default Media leaving Bay (SOLVED)

Currently, the behavior is that if you delete media from a track, if it doesn't appear elsewhere it will be removed from the Media Bay even though it still exists in your project media (until you clean the directory). I would much prefer if it would remain in the Bay as long as it still exists. For example, if you have a few items you want regular access to in the Bay and you create a new edit adding them to another file and glue it, all of those items disappear from the Bay, only the new item currently in the track remains. This makes it difficult to use those items again. An example of this would be when a narrator has mispronounced a name. You manage to create a correct version from the audio and want to use it in each location. It seems the only way to do this is to keep a version of the new edit outside of the project and reimport it each time. The solution isn't to keep all of the audio unglued due to project directory needing to be cleaned periodically.

Or is there a setting I'm missing here? If there is simply a setting switch this is an example of a default that, IMO, should be the other way around, and let the Bay get a cleaning if desired.

Ah, the retain column, and Automatically Retain under the options button.
