Default Possible way to do a reverse paste of item from edit cursor?

Hi guys. I've been wondering this for a while. I'm wondering if an item paste can be done backwards in the sense of pasting from the item end back? So just to be clear not reversing the sample data in the process though that might be handy for some effects. I can see my subject may be misleading but it's hard to summarise.

Why I am asking this is in some situations I want to paste an item down but the BPM of the beat before can differ so I can't just grab the item and paste it in. So what would be good is if a time selection could be made with a "hot spot" at the current cursor position. This hot spot would then be used to paste as a reference point.

I didn't see anything in the actions. Likely a custom action would do the trick, likely a script, that calculated the offset and pasted at that point. But I haven't looked into it. Just thought I'd ask. :-)
