Yep! Took some digging because they've overhauled their site in a major way, but a few years ago I stumbled across the holy grail of cymbal sounds.
It's the Paiste website. EVERY cymbal they make has multiple sound bytes that are still downloadable. Now they have an "authorized use only" warning on the page, but I've been using them for a LONG time. I'm not currently making money with my tracks, so I think I can continue to experiment.
I've never downloaded a single cymbal sound using my Splice sub (which had been neglected until a couple of months ago). Swells, chicks, crashes, bells, open hats, closed hats, hat pedals, it's all there. And all open. I thought they had shut it down for a sec, but they've just made it less obvious.
The only catch, more or less, is that they only have .mpeg files for download. They used to have .wav and .mp3 in the cymbal name and sound. Now it's some giant number. Not too troublesome though. Just convert 'em.
