Default floating fx window titles should reflect renamed fx instances + item/track name

having a lot of those floating fx windows makes it hard to pick the right one for editing and often leads to editing the wrong one.

it would help a lot and greatly reduce confusion if the titles of floating windows would display the (renamed) name of the fx instance plus the name of the item or the track they belong to respectively.

There's not a lot of use in having an fx instance renaming feature if it is restricted to the fx list itself where it's fairly easy to pick the right instance anyway. Renaming becomes really helpful as soon as custom fx names show in the respective instance's window titles.

bumping this because it is so important!!!

please at least add the track's/item's name to the floating fx window's title to help identify what window I'm seeing (and editing).

+1. Track would also would help me in the MIDI editor because I copy items between tracks a lot and may not have renamed item yet.

But I'm not really sure what you mean about the renamed FX part or item name because I just tried it and am seeing the new FX name and the items name too. Win7 Reaper 64.

floating windows of bridged fx only display the name of the plugin. If you are using the same plugin on multiple tracks or items there's no way you can distinguish them which leads to confusion and often I have edited the wrong plugin due to this confusion. Even when you have renamed the plugin instances, this only helps while you are looking at the fx list window. Floating fx window's titles do not reflect the new name.

Window titles of the floating fx windows should read something like "Track1: Guitar - API-560 MONO" and "Track2: Vocals - API-560 MONO - Vocals", thus something like "$trackname: $plugin name or $plugin instance name" (in case you are using several instances of the same plugin in the same fx chain).

Ah, you are correct. I might add, not as an argument against the request merely as info, that it does give you new name and item OR track name if bridged UI is embedded. But that "may not work with all plugins" and is "less crash resilient." Maybe it's just an oversight and they can change it...

It seams to work now but not for bridged plugins (at least not 64 bit). Would be great to have those working, too.

still strange. It does work for a few of my plugins but not for all. Why is that?
Very confusing.
