Default Pre Roll recording

For now we have the possibility:

Preferences -> Recording Settings - > Record Audio during pre-roll;

We Define how many bars of pre-roll in metronome and pre-roll settings;

My suggestion:

Any armed Track can store in memory/buffer the audio while in playback mode, leaving the option to drag the media item and get all audio that was played before hitting record.

If already possible forgive me for this post and teach me how to.

Thanks

I don't think this is currently possible. What do you think it would be useful for?

It´s very useful in studio when you´re in a session and the musician starts playing on top of a song to get some ideias, by the end of the take you realize that was a great take and you didnt record it!With this function you just hit record by the end and you can get all of the audio he/she played by trimming all the Media Item . Its a great feature in Pro Tools.

There is a script done by one of the forum users, a great script, but i think it should be a native function.

Script Here : https://forum.cockos.com/showthread.php?t=168855

It's a very useful function. You can even have a workflow when doing punches that makes good use of it.
