It seems the bug happens when gluing midi items which were drag&drop from different tracks.

Yes, but it did not solve the issue.
I noticed this happens whith children midi items which are part of a parent folder.
I made another video where you can see the parent and chidren tracks.

After a couple of hours of investigation I found this which could be related to this issue :

After glueing and undo item 1 with item 2, I noticed in the project bay that a midi item with the same name can have differents midi contents.

As you can se on the video, the are 2 midi items named "item 1" and 2 midi items named "item 2".
For each midi item name, the midi notes inside the item are different even when the midi item name is the same.

I get it.
Glue bug happens if a midi item is horizontally moved before gluing.

On the video, no horizontal movement : glue OK
Kick item horizontally moved, glue bug.

I'm not able to reproduce this. Could you try to create a minimal project that reproduces the issue, and attach it here?

If
-size A>size B
-the right edge of the item B is NOT over the right edge of the item A
-item B edges are inside the item B
the bugs occurs ALWAYS:

Sometimes, the bug occurs even whith this condition (It seems aleatory):
-size A>size B
-the right edge of the item B is over the right edge of the left edge of item B
-The left edge of item B is inside the item A

---------------------------------------------------------

If
-size A<size B
-the left edge of the item B is over the left edge of the item A
the bugs occurs ALWAYS:

Ah! Can you confirm whether the glued item is actually different from how the two unglued items play back together? Because it sounds like this might be a case of the user not expecting the item mix behavior, rather than a bug.

The english is not my main langage. Maybe, I haven't understood your message. Could you
reformulate it, please ?

I have created the both items (A and B) on the same track.

A new kind of bug:

When you have overlapping media items, the way they mix together is controlled by the item mix behavior, which can be set at the project, track, or media item level. Does the project play back the same before and after gluing? If it plays back the same, then it's not a bug, it is just that the item mix behavior is not what you are expecting.

OK, thank you for your help. That was not a bug. My project was settled on "Enclosed items replace enclosing". When it is settled on "Item alaways mix", there is no more glue "issue".

Great that you sorted it out ovnis.

And dupont, please, if it is the same solution for your original post, rename the thread title to something like "glue items bug - [SOLVED - not a bug]", thanks.

For what it's worth - I ran into this issue too at first, and it would be amazing to get a global preferences option for 'midi items always mix'.

I don't want my audio items mixing when overlaid, but I do want it for midi, and I expect this is quite a typical need.

There is a preference to only set midi items to 'always mix'?

Where is it?

Oh... that sets ALL items to always mix, which is not what I'm after unfortunately. Unless I'm missing something.
