Default 'Save Media' on Items?

Is it possible to get a 'SAVE MEDIA' icon like a 'floppy disk' item on the Media Items buttons in preferences?

This way we could destructively save a copy of exactly whats highlighted straight to a folder/desktop ie: a perfectly cut loop like an editor would?

So, basically, Item Render with a Save As option?
I could see how that would be handy for sound designers.

Yes basically, so you can flatten and SAVE (Like an editor) exactly what is shown in the timeline to a brand new (and renamed) file.

I use an editor a lot to do all my cutting and looping as its destructive, it would be good to do this in Reaper directly, instead of glue, rename, delete old audio files (that the original loop came from) etc

I guesss the best and easiest way to describe Reaper as a multi track editor with area selection would be basically to copy Audacity (but with the power of Reaper)

Audacity let’s you destructively edit save and export exactly what you see and use area selection to cut chop and edit on the timeline over one or more tracks

I am just getting into it as it’s exactly the cross between a multi track editor without glueing re rendering etc

Reaper is much more advanced but a setting to use Reaper in this “mode” would be great for cutting editing and mastering
