Is the Linux installer still working for 19.10
Hello I am new to Linux and to Reaper. I am trying to install Reaper on Pop OS
19.10. From differnet sources it seems that many folks had had good luck using the Linux installer. I was using the amd64 version. I tried dragging the file into the terminal and tried to enter a copied command into the terminal. both times the result was could not open file. There were many pages of charaters on the screen but the text was not formatted correctly.I am wondering if something Changed in the 19.10 update that makes the install fail.I have heard of people running Reaper on Pop OS, but I am having trouble finding any one that has installed Reaper on a 19.10 version of an Ubuntu based distro. Any help would be appreciated. |

Working fine on Ubuntu Studio 19.10 here.
What command are you running?

Xubuntu 19.10 here. Works fine for me.
On a fresh install of the distro, by default .sh files won't run when you double click on them. Right click, choose "open with other application", then choose the terminal emulator for that distro and check the box that says "use as a default for this kind of file" and hit ok. Now you can run .sh files by double clicking on them. (You may also have to right-click on the .sh file, go to "properties" and then "permissions" and check "Allow this file to run as a program".) If you want to run it from the terminal emulator by typing the command, it's "bash install-reaper.sh" (and you have to be in the directory of the .sh file to run the command). |

Thanks for the response that you are running fine Lokasenna. Thank you James for your your detailed help. I did not see a terminal option. So, I chose the run program gear icon. I was finally able to drag the sh file to the terminal and press enter to install Reaper. The key I think was to right click on the zipped file for the options. I first tried to double click on the zipped file and then right click on the exposed sh file and that did not work. I have to now check on the dependencies listed and try out Reaper. I will report on my progress.

You should always extract files first. That should go without saying, especially if you're a Linux user.
Anyway Pop!_OS comes with Bash, so using whatever terminal or terminal emulator you have, the command "bash install-reaper.sh" should work...assuming you extracted the files first. |
