Default Rendering adds soft attack

I'm using Reaper for drum sound design and when I render anything snappy with a sharp beginning transient, the resulting file is always missing the beginning transient and has a soft attack.

I've tried to figure this out for 2 days now. Any advice is appreciated.

I have had this happening when I rendered right at the beginning of the note / sample. Try putting the time selection a little bit earlier so that there is a tiny space between render start and forst note. Is it still happening then?

No, it doesnt happen when I leave a space at the beginning, but that kinda defeats the purpose.. As these are drum samples that need to start as soon as they're triggered.

You should probably go check the bug report forum. I am pretty sure it must have been reported already. And if not, make a report.
I couldn't be bothered to look further into it since I am not a heavy MIDI user. So I don't know if it can be fixed via certain settings on the user's side.
Hopefully someone more knowledgeable will chime in...

Hey there!

Are you rendering from midi triggering a plugin, or from audio?

Also, are you talking about rendering out of reaper, like a bounce? Or just rendering within reaper?

Best Wishes,

-Mac

There's an option for a tiny fade-in\out on play back start\stop;enabled by default in the options menu, might be what you're problem is.

Options>Preferences>Audio.
