BPM change and media item playrate

Is there a setting I've overlooked to stop media items stretching when I change the project BPM? I like to write my drums in audio rather than midi and when I change BPM, which I do quite a lot when I'm trying to figure out groove etc., I would like the samples to remain at their original playrate. Is this possible without having to select all samples and change their playrate manually?
