Default (solved) Project Bay: 'automatically retain' does not work

With 'automatically retain' checked (options of Project Bay) items are not retained.

Hmm can you give steps to reproduce and ideally make a screen capture of it?

Justin, I've taken screencaps of the simple steps.
1- make sure 'automatically retain' option is checked in Project Bay options
2- remove media item from 'Media Items' tab
3- Go to 'Source Media' tab and nothing is retained.

Maybe the intention of how this functions is different than how I imagine it should?

*while I have your attention and on topic* it would be great if the Project Bay was enhanced in its flexibility by adopting Event List Editor type features. I know you've got a ton of requests, but I feel like this is quite fundamental for us who like to work in event lists. (coming from Logic, for instance). Please see my request here:

Ah, note that the option is "Automatically retain media items when removed from project"... source media have to be manually retained.

Though I suppose it would be nice to be able to autoretain source media too.

Hmm, I thought that any media item in the project must be backed by a source, otherwise if it just relates to 'media items' and not their 'sources', what is retained with that option checked?

Edit: Nevermind. I figured out why I wasn't seeing the expected behavior. It makes a difference whether you delete the item from within the Project Bay list (as I like to work in) versus deleting the item from the arranger. Doing the latter successfully retains the media item.

Hi Justin...

Can we have an action to toggle the option 'automatically retain media items' in project bay?

Concept: some media items are worth retaining, others are not. An action could toggle the option as needed (followed by a delete action).
