Song made with Reaper:"The Ostrich"
Haven't posted here in ages....don't know why I'm doing it now ;-)
I'm sure there's not too many folks here-if any with the exception of Glennbo that like this kind of music, but I'm posting it anyway for shits and giggles.

I like the synth jungle drums. Bass sounds freeking great (Scarbee?) and the electric piano solo that kicks in at 1:42 is sooper cool!
You will surely get thousands of comments on this.

Love it.
Prog Rock'ish
Yes'ish
Love the bass tone, how did you get that tone?
I think the kick could have a little more snap somewhere in the 3-6K range.

Not what I usually listen to, but it's damn competent.
Variated, nice mix.

Thank you....I'm an old progger at heart.
The bass is the Scarbee MM bass. It's become my go-to.
Thanks for the comments, I will revisit the mix and some point and take your suggestion into consideration!

This is awesome polymod, takes me back to the 80s and some of the fusion/jazz bands I played in then. Great mix and performance.
Ha ha, so Bass by Scarbee, you did this with Kontakt?
What about all the rest of the instruments?
At any rate, I'm blown away.

Thanks so much for the kind words! Appreciate it. There are some Kontakt tracks along with a few virtual instruments, but the meat and potatoes of the tune besides the Scarbee bass is:
Drums: Drumkit From Hell Superior/Kontakt Studio Drummer (played live with a keyboard controller)
Piano: Yamaha Clavinova
Keys: Prophet~5, Minimoog, Fender Rhodes
Guitars: Les Paul, Telecaster, G&L F100

So you used all virtual instruments for this?
That has nothing to do with the quality of what you did. Still awesome regardless.

Everything but the Piano, keys, and guitars were virtual. All the parts were played live, no cheating ;-)

I'm not into prog rock myself, but this is good work. Can't really fault it.

Bout 30 seconds in I started to crank it in my ears cuz I liked it a lot. Those key runs at 2:50 were saweeeeeet.
Bizarre content. In a good way. Good job. I hope you keep posting. I can't play anywhere near as good as you. My stuff is super simple. Your type of song is not what I'd normally reach for but it has a way of expanding the ideas and pushing the envelope.
Reeeal good man. I liked it a lot. Good mix too. Really good mix. I love hearing drums and your sounded really good. Even if they were digital.
