Default Imported Track Doesn't Start From Beginning

I'm running Reaper 5.15 and I imported a backing track. The backing track once loaded in Reaper doesn't begin at 0.00. The only way I can get it to play from the beginning is to drag the arrow above the time to 0.0.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Is the edit cursor at 0:00 before importing the file?
Does the file perhaps include some time position metadata which is used during import?

Otherwise:
- How are you importing the file?
- And can you maybe also attach the track file in question to a post ...

On second thought:

Do you mean that after import the edit/play cursor is positioned after the backing track item?

In this case, this is the default behavior. You can change this by unchecking the option Move edit cursor when pasting/inserting media under Preferences > Editing Behavior
