Default Midi transpose not working

Hi

I'm using the Midi Transpose plugin but nothing is happening... same goes for other Midi fx. Is there something I need to do before using as the other plugins? I'm using the Intel Mac version btw.

Thanks in advance

Default Maybe I should expand a little...

I'm using VB3 organ and need to transpose whilst playing, as F# minor isn't my key of choice for improvising ;-)

Anyway, whilst I can add standard audio effects such as reverb, the midi fx don't seem to work at all. I tried pitch-shift on the track, but latency went right up.

Is this a recognised problem, or is there something I haven't quite got to grips with? I promise I have already RTFM (Beginners guide, Reaper USers Guide and Reaper Power). Also, I can't find Tool II in my plugins.

Thanks very much in advance

If you want to RECORD the transposed performance, you have to select Record: Output (MIDI) from the record dropdown on the track.

you have to put the effect plugin BEFORE the midi instrument in the effects chain. If the effect is AFTER the instrument in the chain it will not transpose.

Default Thanks

Thanks both very much... I've learned even more than I'd requested - it's really appreciated.
