Midi Editor - Default size of velocity window? (always too big!)

Hi! Is there a way to set a default size for my docked midi editor's velocity window? The velocity section always takes up half my screen every time I double click on a midi item to open & edit it, then I have to resize it manually to a small strip at the bottom.
It's slowly me down immensely when jumping back and forth between many different items. Should't it be small/short by default? I seldom need a full screen of velocity levels.

By default, (on my virgin Reaper portable install) it keeps whatever you set it to when docked.

When undocked (floating) that is saved per midi item, and new midi items use the settings from the last opened MIDI item (but NOT the last 'touched' item)

Are you using a theme?
