Default Piano Roll (MIDI Editor) UX/UI major improvement suggestion/request

Reaper is a great daw! i'm very happy to use it for more than 5 years, i'm learning more everyday and trying to utilyze every featyre, thanks!

i've googled a lot about midi editor functions i needed and didn't find anything so my request is:

-add a function to limit (restrict) !!!a shown!!! keys in midi editor
for example i'd like to see only the keys from X to Y and don't see the ones outside this range. the "Hide Unnamed Notes" isn't a thing because it's a waste of time to name all the needed notes everytime, next "Hide Unnamed Notes" changes a view mode to "named notes" yet i'd like to use a piano roll view mode just restricted to desired range. for example when i'm writes a piano piece i would only see a notes that's in piano range...
picture One is my visualisation how i imagine this function work appearance (created in photoshop)

-add a function to coloring custom notes horizontaly. it may be useful for many different goals like:
to split visually a different timbres in one synth (for example bass range+piano or contra+cello+alto+violin in strings quartet...)
or to highlight a custom scale yet have a ability to write any other notes (unlike the Key Snap function)
picture Two and Three is my visualisation how i imagine this function work appearance (created in photoshop)

You also can hide unused rows.

what do you want to say? yes there is such option but it didn't replace my suggestion. this option still switches a view mode to named notes and didn't work with piano roll view. and it's a wrong way to insert additional notes in every midi item

Could also be useful to quickly change the color of keys that trigger articulation changes.

For your first request,
I'm not sure if this is what you are looking for
but I made a cycle action that replicate the "Fold" fonction in Ableton.

Edit : nvm I just re-read your feature and thats not it but, I will still leave my suggestion in case it help. Maybe you could put the midi notes on ONLY the row you want. then do this cycle action. It will show you only the specific row where there is a note on it.

Exemple :

Here is how I did it :

And yeah a rainbow piano roll would be a cool thing to add! +1
