Hmmm... I'll look into this.. I like to find free plugins so that everyone has access to them.
I'll try browsing the JS plugins.

I recently bought the "Real World Recording" DVD for Reaper, and have watched it all the way thru today. Besides a few volume level problems between the sections, I have to say that this is WELL worth the money!

Suggestions
Thanks, Johnny.
I watched the previous sets of videos you did on Reaper, and will purchase these new ones this weekend.
I have a couple of suggestions for additional ones that I think would be of general interest. First would be more on Midi Editing, especially with all the new options for it. Secondly, as soon as possible, anything on all the new features in V4 would be great. There's a lot of discussion in the V4 forum about very specific aspects, bugs, additional requests, etc. But so far, I can find nothing much that just presents an overview of what they are and how to use them.
Later,
Hartley

I purchased the videos and actually used some of the techniques for a client.
I would like to see some macro options for workflow, both yours and also other reaper peoples.

Thanks for all your tutorials, they are a great help. I also bought the DVD and the tutorials on it is awesome (some glitch in the sound on certain parts, but that doesn't do anything). I learned so much, thanks Jonny.
Looking forward to more "Tips And Tricks" on your homepage.

Just got the DVD in the mail today.... great stuff indeed!
It's nice to have it on DVD to see the tutorials in a more
continuous sort of way.
Great work. Well worth the money for the "paid version" It's
IMO MUCH better than the "free versions" - much more detail and
much more "work flow oriented" as a whole.

New Video: Audio Loops in Reaper | Similar to Sony Acid | Drag and Drop | Regions | Arrange music
I received a request a few days ago about working with audio loops in Reaper. The request was specifically asking if this could be done similarly to Sony Acid… SO I did some research. I wasn’t familiar with Sony Acid… but I watch a couple tutorial videos dealing with Audio loops and now I present you a video dealing with audio loops in Reaper.
What you will need: Reaper, Audio Loops, a slightly creative mind.
What you will learn: Media Browser navigation, Drag and Drop loops into a session, Region creation for musical arrangements

Just finished the "real world recording' DVD from Jonny at TutorialsForReaper and thought I'd add a public thanks and endorsement.
...
I came across this from the range of you Tube Vids Jon continues to offer up, downloaded and found really useful and as you can see, keep on coming!
Meanwhile, the DVD is not a collection of these short examples but as the title suggests 'real world recording' taking a song from a scratch guitar and vocal all the way through the editing and mixing to mastering and burning the CD in reaper and using all reaper plugins and such.
Included are a bunch off tools and extensions, FX chains and the "Apollo" theme used or where and how to download them, what they do and introducing these features too and how they can be used...especially in editing timing and tuning.
There is a lot of material in this DVDrom in part because it gives a "real world" view of how these things are done, decisions are made and acted on and why. This means having to see the entire track editing, not just a simple 'slice here like this, move over and repeat' and moving on...you are taken through every cut that is in the hundreds reinforcing what is really involved and really helping you get a feel for things as they really are....meticulous and repetitive in parts. One could 'fast forward if one chose to, but I wouldn't and I was not bored.
...
Obviously not everything is covered. Little if anything is done with MIDI that I use a lot and is of particular interest, but still all the editing and such is relevant when one considers that in the end, even midi, eventually becomes audio and needs to be treated as such. More on Midi will come I am sure and R4 will change a few things it seems so happy to wait on some of that.
One thing to consider with Midi is that in some ways it does cross over to the artist side of things than the production in many ways. Reaper does not come with a lot of VSTi's and each of us likely use midi in radially different ways.
...
In the meantime, it has encouraged me to look at things differently and the fastest way I can think of to get a real feel for the practicalities of doing things over just 'knowing the program'...
Ok...so again, thanks Jonny, keep them coming and I'd encourage people, especially newbies to reaper like me, to at least check out the shorter YT vids and consider if this tool for learning the essentials and 'real world processes' of production is for you.

The tutorials are proving to be the quickest way for me to learn REAPER. I have a couple of manuals which I'm working through but the tutorials allow me to fly through many of the manuals' lessons. Thanks for such 'good stuff' Jonny.

Hey, man! I finally got around to forking out my hard earned cash for the Real World Recording-class, and I feel like giving some feedback. I'll start off with the "bad", but you don't really need to pay too much attention to this, as they are minor details/tweaks: There are certain problems with sound (volume, out of sync, metronome sound missing) at certain points in the class. It's a minor detraction from the material. Also, the videos would be easier to navigate if they were named with the "chapter" first, so they show up in order in the folder, "1 SWS Presets and Macros.mov", etc. And there was perhaps too much time spent actually doing the slip editing once the concept and techniques were conveyed, but it was really fun watching the project take shape.
The good/excellent things, in my opinion: I had no idea REAPER was natively capable of this, and that it would sound "that good". It's really cool how it was all done with internal effects. It's one thing reading about JS-plugins, quite another to actually taking the time to use one of them, which I hardly have until now. Well, that's changed for me.
Also, it was really fun to watch the step-by-step evolving of the song. I though I would get tired of the material (Faith +1?), but the song turned out really good.
One thing that I kind of "missed", and I hope you could comment on a little, is the strategy behind setting up the gain structure. It seemed to me like you were able to just add more and more stuff without the master meter really going that high as an effect of it. It sounded louder and fuller, but it didn't go into the red. It would be cool if you could share your thoughts on this. This seems to be a recurring problem for me, I feel like I'm attacking it the wrong way out of habit. Perhaps a future class?
Anyway, I'm really happy with the investment, would recommend it to anyone who's at that level of competency and will definitely be picking up any future products you decide to release.
Learned a lot, thanks a bunch!

Just ordered mine also! The books are good reference materials but I've always learned faster 'with an instructor' as in the tutorials and as will be with the DVD. Gotta say thanks to Jon for his time, talent, knowledge and effort in doing these teaching aids.

Hey man, Thanks for the kind words and for the critiques! I learned a lot from making this first product. I'm hoping to have all my future products a little more polished by taking these kind of comments into consideration. :-)
I'm working on putting together a better TOC for the videos and stuff like that for a stand alone launcher.
About the files having better labels and such. Did you use the "OpenMe" file? This would open your browser as an HTML based file launcher and all the files/videos are in order and labeled.
Thanks again for the comments.
