Default help with a JS beat-repeater... suggestions?

hello good people =)

im just setting up a live rig now to play techno/dubstep
and was hoping to find a simple 'beat repeater' type plugin

what i would like the plugin to do is tempo sync to the bpm, then when it receives a midi note on it will keep playing a looped section of audio from the buffer until it receives the corresponding midi note off

as such, i would like to have a selection of sections to be repeated,
eg.
midi note 1 = 1/8 bar
midi note 2 = 1/4 bar
midi note 3 = 1/2 bar
etc.

could anybody give me an idea of how hard this would be for a total newbie?
maybe there are some other plugins around that have some features i could hack together to achieve this?

thanks!!!
