Default Setting up a 2nd MIDI input on the same track (a slider & knob unit) ?

I have a virtual instrument (a synth) on one track and currently the input is just my regular MIDI keyboard.

However, I have another MIDI unit which is just basically a couple of knobs and some sliders. I want to set this up on the same track to control some of the knobs on the synth.
Is this possible in Reaper (2 midi inputs on the same track) - how would you go about it?

Thanks, thats working for me.

At times though, randomly every now and then, all the inputs will just stop working. I have to reboot to re-establish connection.
Is there a quicker way of getting the inputs back, like a refresh in the Ausio prefS or something. I don't want to plug/unplug because my USB connector is in a had to reach place.

If you haven't already, check the power plan and USB port power settings to make sure that the USB ports aren't put to sleep.
