Default Suddenly MP4 video won't display in the video window

Solved: Changing VLC version to VLC 2.2.8.

The other night I accidentally clicked "update VLC" and now Im getting no video when i bring mp4's into reaper.

I BELIEVE that's what's causing it anyway.

I cant remember the old version I had.

I've tried uninstalling and re-installing several older versions of VLC but still no video.

Can someone please help.

Does anyone have a version of VLC that they know 100% works for mp4 in reaper?

Strange...updating VLC never created such a problem on my computers running on windoze. I would check the preferences->media->video. Good luck

I've still been updating VLC and the video in Reaper works, sometimes I'll have to save my video in the project and restart to see it though.

Not sure what formats reaper takes, i know i always have to convert it to a wmv or something really old to get it to show.

are you using an older version of reaper?

with Reaper 7.03+ you can use VLC 3.0.19+
compatibility was broken for about 3 days in November.

I wonder if your auto update of VLC switched to 32-bit or something

Changing to VLC 2.2.8 64 bit seems to have fixed it.
