Problem with ASIO output, emu 1820m

Hello to all. I've recently been perplexed to find an annoying problem that I can't seem to solve - namely, every time I open a reaper project and try to play back audio, my 1820m's software mixer only registers the left channel. The right is completely dead. I've cancelled out any routing or panning issues. Everything seems to be in perfect order. But I just can't seem to get the other channel to playback. I had been running reaper on the same system, previous to version 1.00, and never encountered any such issues. I've now upgraded to 1.14, and haven't been able to solve this problem since. I even uninstalled the emu drivers, the Patchmix software mixer, and reaper, then reinstalled everything - yet this problem persists... I've been racking my brains over this, and can't seem to make heads or tails of it. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
